Hello and welcome to another episode of An Uplifting Song a Day (Keeps Coronavirus Away)

Today's song encourages us to consider putting aside some time daily to spend with God. The outcome of time spent with God is that He is able to take away what troubles us because He invites us to share our desires with Him.

Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father's throne
make all my wants and wishes known.

In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter's snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!

With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.

And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I'll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to another episode of an uplifting song. A day keeps Corona virus away. Today's song is sweet hour of prayer, reminding us about that moment that we put aside for the Lord. If we don't already do it, it encourages us to do it because it tells us about how it takes you from your world of care. It brings you to the throat of grace, letting you know that you can find mercy and grace to help in your time of need. So consider having an hour of prayer. You may not start it or now, or you may start at five minutes and work your way up. But the idea is to have a moment where you put God first and you just love on him and allow him to love back on you. Sweet. Right?[inaudible]
